Jamaican entrepreneur, technology executive and investor Kemal Brown will take the stage at the Orbtronics Innovation Summit 2026: Frontiers of Innovation, taking place November 21–22 in Saint Lucia.

The invitation-only summit brings together entrepreneurs, investors, technology leaders, policymakers and regional institutions around the future of innovation in the Caribbean. The programme will explore emerging opportunities across fintech and digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence and frontier technology, climate technology and resilience, agritech and food systems, health technology, entrepreneurship and venture capital.

Brown is expected to use his address to examine the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship and Caribbean economic development, drawing on his experience building businesses and advising organisations operating across multiple markets.

A Jamaican-born entrepreneur with an increasingly international footprint, Brown has built his career at the intersection of marketing, technology, investment and digital transformation. Through his leadership of Digita Global Marketing and related ventures, he has worked across the Caribbean and internationally, with a particular focus on helping businesses use technology not simply as a communications tool, but as an engine for operational growth, competitiveness and value creation.

His participation at the Saint Lucia summit adds to a growing international speaking profile. Brown has delivered presentations and participated in business, technology and leadership engagements across more than 35 countries, giving him a perspective shaped by both Caribbean realities and global markets. “The Caribbean has never lacked talent, creativity or ambition. The question is whether we can build the systems, capital and technology required to turn those advantages into globally competitive enterprises,” Brown said.

“That means moving beyond conversations about innovation and becoming much more deliberate about building companies, infrastructure and institutions that can compete internationally while creating meaningful economic value at home.”

The Orbtronics Innovation Summit has been positioned as a platform for bringing together Caribbean capital, talent and technology, with organisers describing the gathering as part of a broader effort to develop Saint Lucia as a hub for innovation and technology. The summit is expected to attract CARICOM leaders, representatives from regional and international development institutions, investors and leading founders.

For Brown, the opportunity is also to strengthen the regional conversation about what the Caribbean can become.

“We should not only be consumers of the next technological wave. We have an opportunity to build companies, intellectual property, investment platforms and technology solutions that originate here and compete everywhere,” he said.

The summit will also feature opportunities for collaboration between founders, investors, governments and institutions, including a speakers’ roundtable and curated networking designed to facilitate regional partnerships and investment relationships.

Brown’s participation comes at a time when artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and venture capital are rapidly reshaping global business. He believes the Caribbean must approach these changes with greater urgency and a stronger emphasis on execution.

“The next decade will be determined by how effectively we translate our ideas into institutions, our talent into companies, and our technology into productivity,” Brown said. “The Caribbean has an opportunity to participate in shaping the future rather than simply adapting to it.”
