JN Money Services has joined relief efforts to support communities affected by the devastating floods in Nepal, in solidarity with the significant Nepalese community in the Cayman Islands, where the company operates.

Through the initiative, JN Money will donate US$1 from every transaction sent from the Cayman Islands to Nepal via its remittance service through October 31, 2026. The funds will be channelled to the Government of Nepal’s Disaster Relief Fund to assist with the recovery efforts.

The floods, which struck Nepal on August 26, 2026, claimed more than 1,400 lives and left more than 5,600 people unaccounted for, creating an urgent need for humanitarian assistance as affected residents face the difficult task of rebuilding their lives.

Cedrica Reid, Marketing and Sales Manager at JN Money Services, expressed deep sympathy for the people of Nepal, particularly the families who have lost loved ones.

“We recognise that this tragedy has also deeply affected members of the Nepalese community in the Cayman Islands, many of whom have family and friends back home,” she said.

“At JN Money, we believe that our responsibility extends beyond facilitating transactions to supporting the communities and families who depend on us. Through initiatives such as this, we can harness the power of our network to make a meaningful difference, and to demonstrate that even small contributions, when combined, can provide valuable assistance to communities in need,” Ms Reid pointed out.

She noted that the initiative also provides customers with an opportunity to contribute to the relief effort through their regular remittance transactions.

“Every transaction sent to Nepal during this period will make a difference. By contributing US$1 from each transaction, we are creating an opportunity for our customers to play a part in helping families and communities recover. We anticipate that this collective effort will provide some measure of relief to those who have suffered loss,” she added.
