Mayberry Investments Limited (MIL) has recently announced the full senior leadership team now in place across every core function of the business, from capital markets and treasury to research, compliance, client relationships, operations and technology. The announcement builds on the previously announced appointments of Kirk Douglas as Vice President, Strategic Finance & Corporate Development, and Melicia Jones as Vice President, Relationship Management, and brings together newly recruited specialists and long-serving Mayberry veterans promoted from within.
These appointments highlight a hand-picked leadership bench assembled deliberately over the past year to match the calibre of talent every discipline of the business depends on.

A deliberate architecture of expertise
As financial markets across the region grow more complex, Chief Executive Officer Patrick Bataille said the firm’s approach to leadership has been anything but incidental.
“This team is built for where our clients are headed, not just where they are today. Over the next phase, that means deepening our capital markets and structured finance capability, extending our reach further across the region, and making sure every part of this business is positioned to serve a client base that is more sophisticated and more regional than ever before.”
That direction runs across every discipline the firm depends on, Mr Bataille added, from the trading floor to the compliance function.

Strengthening the corporate finance engine
At the centre of Mayberry’s dealmaking capability sits Dan Theoc, Senior Vice President, Investment Banking, whose sixteen years in senior finance roles at the Jamaica Public Service Company — including stints as Chief Financial Officer and General Manager of the South Jamaica Power Company — followed an earlier thirteen years in advisory at KPMG. Since joining Mayberry in 2018, Mr Theoc has helped expand the firm’s investment banking footprint and has been a driving force behind the growth of Jamaica’s Junior Market, a segment in which Mayberry has served as lead broker for a majority of the companies listed on that market.
Rounding out the investment banking bench is Rachel Kirlew, Assistant Vice President, Investment Banking. Her grounding in financial and economic analysis, company valuation and financial modelling underpins the firm’s deal analysis and bond recommendations, and she anchors Mayberry’s investor engagement programme, including its investor forums.

Strategic finance and structured products
Leading strategic finance and corporate development initiatives from the CEO’s office is Kirk Douglas, Vice President, Strategic Finance & Corporate Development, whose appointment brought deep capital markets and structured finance expertise from senior roles at Barita Investments Limited, NCB Capital Markets and JMMB Group. A CFA and CAIA charterholder, Mr Douglas also leads Mayberry’s new structured products desk, building out the firm’s origination and distribution capability through structured notes and bespoke investment solutions. His mandate sits at the intersection of strategy and finance: de-risking the balance sheet, developing new product lines, executing special projects from the CEO’s office, and supporting capital structuring and funding strategy across the firm.
