GraceKennedy has confirmed that a man was killed outside its distribution centre in St Catherine this afternoon.

The food and financial conglomerate said the incident involving a trailer towing a 20-foot container and a second private vehicle occurred about 2:15 p.m., immediately outside the gates to the distribution facility.

No one else was injured in the incident. 

The Jamaica Constabulary Force and Jamaica Fire Brigade were quick to the scene to carry out recovery operations.

“Our GraceKennedy team on the ground and other relevant GraceKennedy personnel who have been deployed are assisting the authorities in their investigations,” the company said in a statement.

“We are deeply saddened by this loss of life, and extend our sincere condolences to the family, friends, other loved ones, and our team members who have been affected,” it added.
