The court has set an April 9 date for the murder case of 50-year-old Robert Fowler, who has been accused in the highly publicised murder of 20-year-old Khanice Jackson in Portmore, St Catherine.
Fowler was slapped with the capital charge on Wednesday (March 31).
He is being investigated for a similar murder of another woman, also in Portmore, and remains in custody with the case to be mentioned in court on April 9.
In the interview session with the police, Fowler was reportedly questioned about the murder and the events leading up to the point where Jackson was strangled to deàth and thereafter. Several items believed to be Jackson’s were found at the accused’s home.

This includes her purse and other small items. Jackson’s murder last week has resulted in a public outcry about the perpetration of violence against women, which many say have become rampant in the Jamaican society.
Material evidence pinpoint Fowler as the killer
Material evidence so far gathered by the police suggests that Jackson was lured to Fowler’s home in Portmore, where she was killed. Jackson, an accounting clerk, went missing on March 24 after leaving home in Portmore, St Catherine for work.
Her body was found in the Portmore Fishing Village in St Catherine two days later.
Fowler being investigated for another female murder
In the meantime, the police have confirmed that Fowler is now the prime suspect in the murder of another woman in Portmore some years ago. This came about after a woman alleged on Instagram that Fowler had killed her cousin in Passagefort in Portmore some years ago and then fled to rural Jamaica, returning to the sunshine city years after.
