One hundred and fourteen Jamaicans have lost their lives on the nation’s roadways in motor vehicle crashes up to Monday, April 8.

This is according to the latest crash report published by the Road Safety Unit (RSU) in the Island Traffic Authority (ITA).

The number of fatalities represents a 5 per cent decline in fatalities when compared to the same period last year.

Motorcyclists, pedestrians and private motor vehicle drivers accounted for the highest number of road users killed on the nation’s roadways.

Trelawny, Westmoreland, St James and Hanover are the parishes with the highest number of road fatalities.
