Pending the outcome of a medical and the finalisation of personal terms, Jamaican international footballer Leon Bailey could be headed to Aston Villa FC in the English Premier League.

On Saturday (July 31) Aston Villa announced that it had struck a deal with Bayer Leverkusen for 23-year-old Bailey.

“Aston Villa and Bayer Leverkusen have reached an agreement for the transfer of Leon Bailey subject to the player completing a medical and finalising personal terms,” read the release.

Villa’s move comes amid reports that the club’s 25-year-old captain, Jack Grealish, is the subject of a whopping £100 million (US$139 million) offer from Manchester City.

City are also said to be intent on signing Grealish’s England teammate Harry Kane and are rumoured to have made a £100 million offer for the Tottenham striker.

The 2021/22 Premier League season is set to kick off on August 14.
