There was a sombre mood at Christiana High School in Manchester on Tuesday, after a decomposed body, believed to be that of Santina Sergeant, was found in a burnt-out refrigerator behind her family home in Baillieston, Clarendon, on Monday evening.

Sergeant was a 13-year-old second-form student at Christiana High, who resided at Riverside Drive. Her father reported her missing on Friday, October 3.

Police said on Monday, a team from the Christiana Police Station went in search of Sergeant when her body was found at the back of a house in a vegetated area.

Sergeant recently transferred from Excelsior High in Kingston to Christiana High.
