Cold front’s influence begins to wane over Jamaica

A stationary front hovering just west of Jamaica is expected to dissipate later today (November 1), forecasters at the island’s meteorological service explained on Monday.
The Jamaica Meteorological Service, in a 5:00 am bulletin, indicated that on the dissipation of the stationary front, a weak trough will remain across the island.
Jamaicans can expect partly cloudy morning skies, with isolated showers across sections of western parishes. Late this afternoon, widely scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will be in store for western and south-central parishes while it should be partly cloudy tonight.
A lingering patch of Saharan dust is also in Jamaica’s periphery, according to satellite imagery tracking the dry air layer on Monday, November 1.
The Saharan Air Layer (SAL) is more concentrated over much of the Greater Antilles, including the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands.
The maximum temperatures expected in major cities Kingston and Montego Bay are 31 and 30 degrees Celcius respectively.
