Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton says public health information in the country is becoming even more difficult to sift through as a result of the influence of social media.

Tufton shared that health officials do their best to disperse factual information but are left to constantly compete with what he descried as ‘noise’ on social media.

The health minister said officials will need to adjust themselves to combat the continuous misinformation from social media experts.

The Government has been facing challenges against the anti-vax campaigns as it moves to improve the vaccination rate in the country.

Tufton acknowledged that the information from social media may appear more appealing but paying attention to the content and optics of the message is important.

“The other people are so coordinated that fi dem something look prettier. whether we like it or not, people like pretty things. I am saying pretty in a generalised. People love the optics, the presentation is as important as the content in many respects because, if you lose them on the optics, they won’t have time for the content,” Tufton shared.
