American entertainment giants Walt Disney Co. is investing US$1.5 billion for a stake in Epic Games, taking its biggest risk yet in the gaming arena.

Disney CEO Bob Iger announced in a statement on Wednesday (February 7) that it will be collaborating with the Fortnite studio to produce new games and an entertainment ‘world’ where fans can “play, watch, shop and engage with content, characters and stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar and more”.

Gamers worldwide are ecstatic and eagerly await the release date.
