The Electoral Office of Jamaica (ECJ) is reminding the electorate that today, February 26, is election day for all registered voters to participate in the Local Government election.

The ECJ’s statement follows a Tiktok video circulating on social media of a man advising members of the electorate that supporters of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) will vote on Monday, February 26, while supporters of the People’s National Party (PNP) will vote on Tuesday, February 27.

However, the ECJ in a social media post on X, formerly known as Twitter, has dismissed the video post as false.

“We are aware of a TikTok video being circulated about voting taking place on Monday and Tuesday for different party supporters. This information is false. February 26 is Election Day for all registered voters,” the ECJ said.
