The South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) is cautioning members of the public against spreading fake news following claims that a woman with a stillborn baby was neglected at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston.

There has been a social media post circulating about a woman who was reportedly admitted to the maternity hospital with a stillborn baby, who is yet to receive medical attention since Saturday, January 13.

However, SERHA has moved to dismiss the claims. In a statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday, January 15, SERHA said: “The management of the Victoria Jubilee Hospital has reported that there are no stillbirths on the labour ward at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital, nor any pregnant patient uncared for with an intrauterine demise.”

“Members of the public are being asked to desist from spreading false information about our institutions,” SERHA warned.
