The first day of Dominican Republic Ambassador to Jamaica, Angie Shakira Martínez Tejera’s diplomatic mission was one filled with ceremony, as the envoy used Friday (May 7) to present her credentials at select Government offices in Kingston and St Andrew. 

Mrs Martínez Tejera, a gracious and enthusiastic international lawyer-turned-stateswoman, was kept quite busy between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade as well as King’s House, where set met and spoke in an introductory setting to Minister Kamina Johnson Smith and Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen respectively. 

Then, she sat with Our Today at the Hope Road-based Embassy of Dominican Republic to outline ambitions to bolster the 57-year-old friendship between her Spanish-speaking home country and Jamaica.
