Set against a backdrop of the stunning Hilton Rose Hall Hotel in Montego Bay, the inaugural Jamaican Women Pinnacle awards gala celebrated the achievements of 26 extraordinary women who have made significant contributions to the country and the diaspora on March 29.

The evening commenced promptly at 8:00 p.m. with multi-instrumentalist Andrene Brown who delivered a stirring opening performance on alto sax, playing Shaggy’s empowerment anthem ‘Strength of a Woman‘ to set the tone for the celebration.

Broadcasting stalwarts Paula-Anne Porter-Jones and Dwight Fraser co-hosted the event, guiding attendees through a night of recognition and inspiration. Among the honorees were trailblazers from various industries, each receiving a specially designed award by renowned Jamaican artist and sculptor Robert Campbell.

While some honorees were unable to attend and shared video messages, among those present were:

• Sandra Graham – Government communicator extraordinaire and strategic thinker
• Yolande Geddes-Hall – One of two women to represent Jamaica in four different sports
• Stacey-Ann Easy – Executive director of ‘Garden of Dreams’ at Madison Square Garden Entertainment in New York City
• Dr Kurdell Espinosa-Campbell – Emergency medical specialist
• Ariane Wint – Founder of International Women in Reggae, an all-female band
• Coleen ‘Kim’ Morrison – Travel specialist
• Karen Sudu – Founder of True United Sisters

Three special awards were presented at the inaugural event:

• Marcia Griffiths – Icon Award, for 60+ years in music 
• Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange – Leadership Award for her contribution to public service, culture, sports and women’s rights
• Dr Una Clarke – Leadership Award, First Caribbean-born woman elected to NYC legislature

Throughout the night, guests were treated to captivating performances by the talented Andrene Brown, further enhancing the evening’s elegance and prestige.

The keynote address was delivered by transformational speaker and “Cross-Over Guru” Donaree Muirhead, who encouraged the honorees to embrace their strength, lift others as they rise, and take their rightful place at the top without fear or hesitation.

The Jamaican Women Pinnacle Awards is the brainchild of Lyndon Taylor, founder and CEO of Lyndon Taylor & Associates, a boutique public relations consultancy based in New York.

Taylor created the awards to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of Jamaican women across all industries and levels, ensuring they receive the recognition they truly deserve.
