Prime Minister Andrew Holness has noted with sadness Thursday’s death of diplomat and advertising executive Professor Arnold Foote.
In a statement this morning (December 3), Holness said Foote was a trailblazer in the advertising and marketing industry.
Noting that Foote founded advertising agency Advertising and Marketing Ltd (AdMark) in 1964, the prime said: “He earned the respect and high regard of his peers by breaking barriers and maintaining standards of excellence in humanitarianism.”
“Indeed, Jamaica has lost one of our most honoured citizens and diplomats.”

In 1997, Foote was conferred with membership in the Order of Distinction, Commander class, for his work in advertising and the promotion of trade.
In 2010, he was conferred membership in the Order of Jamaica (OJ) in recognition of service to Jamaica and internationally in the fields of advertising, sports and diplomacy.
“Indeed, Jamaica has lost one of our most honoured citizens and diplomats,” Holness said.
“I extend condolences to Professor Foote’s wife and three children. May his soul rest In peace.”
