Hyundai Jamaica is continuing to expand its impact beyond the automotive industry, solidifying its role in shaping leadership and empowerment as it renews its title sponsorship of the Miss Universe Jamaica (MUJ) pageant for the third time.
In a signing session at Magna Motors’ state-of-the-art Oxford Road showroom on April 1, 2025, the partnership was officially sealed, marking another milestone in Hyundai’s collaboration with the prestigious competition.
As Magna Motors celebrates its 10th anniversary as the exclusive distributor of premium Hyundai vehicles in Jamaica, this renewed alliance underscores the brand’s continued growth and leadership in the market. Hyundai, hailed as the fastest-growing automotive brand in Jamaica, is not just providing mobility solutions, it is meeting its audience where they are, forging connections that go beyond the road and into the communities it serves.
“At Hyundai, we strive to not only move people, but move communities forward,” said Luz Tejada, Managing Director of Magna Motors Dealership Limited. “Miss Universe Jamaica is more than a pageant, it is a platform for leadership, advocacy, and ambition. With 70% of our customers being women and Hyundai’s female leadership driving change globally, this collaboration reflects our commitment to uplifting and empowering women at every level. As Hyundai continues to be one of the fastest-growing brands in Jamaica, we remain dedicated to meeting our audience where they are— through innovation, quality, and partnerships that shape the future.”

As part of this partnership, Hyundai Jamaica will make a financial contribution to the staging of events for three years, including a cash prize and a brand-new premium Hyundai vehicle to the 2025 Hyundai Miss Universe Jamaica titleholder. This investment is a tangible demonstration of Hyundai’s commitment to rewarding excellence, supporting the winner as she embarks on a journey of national representation.
Miss Universe Jamaica has evolved beyond traditional pageantry, focusing on leadership, advocacy, and personal growth. Mark McDermoth, MUJ Co-National Director, emphasized Hyundai’s role in elevating the competition’s impact.

“Hyundai understands what we do, and that means everything,” said McDermoth. “This is not just a sponsorship, it is a collaboration that fuels transformation. This year’s pageant is about more than crowning a queen; it is a season of beauty, fashion, and wellness. Our delegates gain the tools to leadadvocate, and make a difference, and Hyundai’s support helps us make that possible on multiple levels.”
Miss Universe Jamaica 2024, Rachel Silvera, also highlighted the significance of the partnership. “As someone who experienced the joy and independence of owning my first car last year, I know how powerful that moment can be,” said Silvera. “Hyundai’s partnership is not just about supporting the competition, it is about recognizing the empowerment this platform gives young women across Jamaica. We are truly grateful.”

With a decade-long legacy of delivering high-quality vehicles, including cutting-edge SUVs, eco-friendly models, and high-performance innovations, Hyundai Jamaica continues to set the standard for mobility, accessibility, and community engagement. Having previously sponsored the Miss Universe Jamaica pageant in 2014 and 2023, Hyundai is deepening its commitment to excellence and empowerment with the Hyundai Miss Universe Jamaica 2025 season, which promises to be a thrilling celebration of talent, ambition, and leadership, setting the stage for another remarkable year.
