Kanye West fans starving for new music from the hip hop icon may have stayed up until very late last night searching for Donda, only to find out that the album has been delayed to August 6.

The news came just before midnight last night (July 23) from hip hop insider Justin Laboy, who has appeared in recent days to be acting as Kanye’s de facto PR manager.

“Kanye West will move the release date of Donda to August 6th. Thanks for your patience,” Laboy said in a Twitter post, adding, “He wants to give his fans the best possible product without rushing anything. He loves yall with all of his heart. God bless.”

It seems Yeezy the Genius might have picked up a few adjustments he needs to make after hosting a massive, packed listening party on Thursday (July 22) at the 71,000-capacity Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

The music, which features a surprise reunion between Kanye and Jay Z on the title track, Donda, was expected to be released sometime on Friday (July 23).

The delay had fans hoping to vibe to the Donda album today, but they instead were left to express their dismay online.
