Light earthquake rattles sections of eastern Jamaica

A light earthquake rattled sections of eastern Jamaica on Thursday morning (December 9).

According to VolcanoDiscovery.com, the tremor was an approximately 4.4 magnitude event, occurring at 11:13 am Jamaica time.

The earthquake struck near Kitson Town, St Catherine and had a focal depth of 50 kilometres.

Felt reports have since emerged from St Catherine, Kingston, St Andrew and sections of St Mary.
