The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) has, with immediate effect, suspended trading in the shares of pharmaceuticals and medical sundries distributor, Medical Disposables & Supplies (MDS).

This was done as the company is in breach of the JSE Junior Market Rule Appendix 2, Part 4(2) (e) – Audited Financial Statement, which is long past its due time. The suspension, which was announced this morning, will only be lifted pending the submission of its 2025 Audited Financial Statements for the year ended March 31, 2026.

Just under two weeks ago on August 19, MDS advised the JSE that it would be unable to meet the prescribed deadline for submission of its Unaudited Quarterly Financial Statements for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026.

The delay, the company reported, is due to an unforeseen I.T. occurrence, which resulted in the disruption of the accounting process and, in turn, delayed the quarterly financial statements for the stated period.

Accordingly, MDS apologised for any inconvenience caused and respectfully requests the understanding of its stakeholders in relation to this delayed filing.

MDS was officially listed on December 24, 2013, operating as a major Jamaican distributor providing pharmaceutical products, medical disposable items and equipment, and fast-moving consumer goods.
