The Jamaica Meteorological Service is advising that cooler and windy conditions will persist on New Year’s Day (January 1) thanks to the lingering dominance of a stationary front much of the central Caribean.
The Met Service, in its 5:00 am forecast, indicated that the stationary frontal system is expected to remain until Tuesday as it gradually weakens.
Intermittent showers are in store for a large section of the island, mainly across northeastern parishes, while elsewhere it should be otherwise partly cloudy. Cool and windy conditions will be a fixed feature especially across northern parishes.
The respective maximum temperature expected for major cities Kingston and Montego Bay is 30 and 27 degrees Celsius.
