Olympians Elaine Thompson-Herah, Julian Forte and Jamaican hurdler, Rasheed Broadbell kicked off the start of NCB and Visa’s ‘Tap for Gold’ credit card campaign with an exciting ‘lime-and-spoon’ race at the Jamaica Food and Drink Kitchen.
The Parisian-themed soirée provided the perfect backdrop for introducing the campaign, offering NCB Visa credit cardholders the chance to win the ultimate prize of an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
The campaign runs from March 12 to July 15. Each purchase of J$15,000 or more using any NCB Visa consumer credit card qualifies the cardholder for an automatic entry in the promotion.
NCB Jamaica chief executive Bruce Bowen said that the Olympic Games highlight the significance of creating unforgettable experiences for customers.

“Our lives are shaped by our experiences, and providing our customers with unforgettable moments is at the heart of our service mission. Teaming up with Visa to offer this incredible opportunity is a testament of our commitment to our customers. Not only does it offer the chance to attend the Olympic Games, but it also fosters a connection with the global community celebrating excellence and sportsmanship, while supporting our Jamaican athletes on the world’s stage,”
On a five-day, four-night experience, the grand prize winner and their guest will enjoy access to select Olympic events, accommodation at the luxurious Hoxton Paris, Paris Metro and Tourist Passes, a specially curated epicurean adventure at the Salon Gustave, among other exciting perks.

Aside from the grand prize, NCB Visa credit cardholders can also win one of three game party kits – complete with a 65” TV, sound bars, food and gifts. Additionally, customers who make purchases of JMD$15,000 or more using an NCB Visa Consumer credit card in the NCB Pay app can vie for a trip for two to Sandals Resort Montego Bay.
Frank Gandarillas, senior business leader at Visa Caribbean, expressed Visa’s commitment to transforming payment experiences globally.

“As a global entity, Visa is dedicated to revolutionising the way individuals pay for products and services both locally and internationally. Partnering with National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited to provide one lucky NCB Visa credit cardholder with an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Paris to enjoy a five days/four nights immersive experience in one trip to one of the world’s major centres of finance, diplomacy, commerce, culture, fashion, and gastronomy is our way of delighting our card users.”
Five-time Olympic champion and NCB brand ambassador, Elaine Thompson-Herah also shared, “As an athlete, the atmosphere, the energy, and the vibe of the crowd at the Olympics is something truly special. So, for any Jamaican, this is an amazing opportunity to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience like this and to be able to cheer on the team in person, and I know that will be unforgettable.”

The launch brought Paris, France to the heart of St. Andrew with a delectable Paris-inspired menu, chic berets and scarves for the guests, and replicas of French landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe.
