Leadership means responsibility to and for the members of an organisation. An integral part here is communication and getting the buy-in of those under your stewardship. All those who form the team must intrinsically understand the mission.

Jamaica’s Minister of Health Dr Christopher Tufton adheres to this manner of leadership and made mention of it at the Ministry of Health’s Open House and Exhibition held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel located in New Kingston.

Dr Tufton declared: “I do believe that when you work you must carry the people you provide leadership for in terms of what you are doing in order to maintain confidence in the process and point in the direction forward.”

“If the people lose confidence the job becomes that much harder. Building a resilient healthcare infrastructure is very important and I believe that the COVID experience has brought this home perhaps more than any other,” he added.
