The People’s National Party (PNP) has expressed its deep regrets following the tragic death of a 15-year-old boy, who reportedly died after falling from a bus during a PNP motorcade in Portmore, St Catherine.

The incident reportedly happened in the Southboro Division on Sunday, January 18, evening.

Reports are that the youngster fell and hit his head after trying to hop off one vehicle to catch another.

He later died at the Spanish Town Hospital.

PNP General Secretary Dayton Campbell, in a statement on Sunday, expressed sadness at the tragedy and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they grapple with the profound loss of their loved one. In light of this tragic incident, the PNP is urging everyone to respect the privacy of the grieving family. We ask that they be allowed the space they need to navigate this heartbreaking situation,” Campbell said.

Following the tragic incident, Campbell also emphasised the importance of heightened vigilance and attention to safety among supporters while campaigning.

He said the party is committed to providing support to the family affected by the tragedy.

“We stand ready to assist in any way possible and offer our deepest sympathies during this challenging period,” he added.
