The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has made a breakthrough in the case of eight-year-old Danielle Rowe, as suspect Kayodi Satchell* was today (August 25) positively singled out and arrested following an identification parade.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Fitz Bailey, speaking at a press conference this afternoon, said the 30-year-old dental assistant, who hails from a Padmore District address in Red Hills, St Andrew, was first taken into custody on August 11.

Bailey also revealed that Satchell was a former “intimate partner” of the bereaved father, Norval Rowe, an active police corporal within the force.

“The breakthrough is a reflection of the commitment, patience and due diligence of our investigators in this matter and I want to commend the team that was involved in this investigation,” he explained.

“We have not yet established a clear motive but as the investigation proceeds, we expect that the real motive will be manifested,” the senior cop added.

Bailey further indicated that Satchell will be interviewed, with formal charges laid thereafter in “the coming days”.

Rowe was abducted from Brateon Primary and Infant School in Portmore, St Catherine on June 8 and later left for dead at Roosevelt Avenue in St Andrew, where she was found by a passing motorist with her throat slashed.

The motorist assisted the child to the Bustamante Children’s Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries roughly two days after her harrowing ordeal.
