Skeletal remains believed to be of missing entertainer Medikk

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is appealing to the general public for information on the discovery of what is believed to be the suspected skeletal remains of missing entertainer Stephany Williams.

The decomposed body of the 29-year-old Westmoreland native, known within the dancehall sphere as Medikk, was discovered by police investigators in a cane field in the rural district of Wallen, St Catherine on Wednesday (February 14).

“The remains will be processed and compared with DNA samples to determine the true identity. The investigation continues in the matter,” a JCF statement indicated late Thursday evening.

Williams’ mother first reported the singjay missing on August 24, 2023, after she seemingly vanished. The musician, a self-professed tomboy, was last seen leaving her Mayfair, Red Hills Road apartment in St Andrew that Thursday afternoon.

Her missing person’s report further stated that Williams was wearing a black blouse, black tights and a pair of black shoes.

The police said that a missing person and possible murder investigation were immediately launched.

In an exhaustive process, sleuths noted thar several lines of inquiry were made, persons interviewed and statements recorded. Numerous case conferences were also held, with investigagtors receiving significant from the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) Headquarters in Kingston.
