Two of Jamaica’s most influential musical forces, legendary Grammy Award-winning reggae artist Stephen Marley and dancehall icon Beenie Man, (also a Grammy Award winner) unite on the highly anticipated new single “Winning,” produced by David Cole and co-produced by Makonnen “SpaceAgeRasta” Hanna.
Born from the energy and competitive spirit surrounding football and the World Cup, “Winning” is an uplifting, celebratory anthem built around a simple but powerful message: victory is a mindset.
The track brings together the unmistakable reggae legacy of Stephen Marley with the lyrical energy and dancehall authority of Beenie Man, creating a cross-generational Jamaican collaboration designed to resonate far beyond the island.

According to producer David Cole, the concept for the song began with the World Cup and the idea of building the chorus around the word “winning.” Cole presented the early concept to Stephen Marley, who developed the chorus, before bringing the track to Beenie Man, who added his distinctive dancehall presence.
“Winning” also represents an important chapter in Cole’s continuing musical journey. The son of legendary Jamaican footballer and Bob Marley tour manager Allan “Skill” Cole, David has been immersed in Jamaican music and culture from birth. His production career began in the late 1990s, and he has maintained a long professional relationship with Stephen Marley dating back to his work with the Ghetto Youth International camp.
For Beenie Man, “Winning” marks his first production collaboration with Cole in this particular creative space, despite the pair having known each other since the late 1990s.

A collaboration rooted in Jamaican musical heritage
The record also brings together two producers whose creative relationship is rooted in Jamaica’s long-standing musical community. Makonnen “SpaceAgeRasta” Hanna, who serves as co-producer and A&R on the project, describes David Cole as being like an older brother and highlights the longstanding cultural connections between their families and the musical community that helped shape their creative perspectives.
That history gives “Winning” an additional layer of significance. It is not simply a collaboration between two superstar performers; it is a meeting of generations, musical traditions and longstanding Jamaican cultural relationships.

Stephen Marley × Beenie Man
Stephen Marley represents one of reggae’s most important musical legacies, carrying forward the Marley family’s contribution to Jamaican and international music while establishing his own distinctive identity as an artist, songwriter and producer.
Beenie Man, meanwhile, stands among dancehall’s most enduring figures, with a career spanning decades and an unmistakable influence on Jamaican popular music.
Together, their contrasting yet complementary styles give “Winning” its unique character — reggae consciousness and melody meeting dancehall energy, delivered over a production designed to feel both authentically Jamaican and internationally accessible.

The Sound of Victory
At its core, “Winning” is about the pursuit of victory — in music, sport, life and personal ambition.
The song’s football inspiration provides the immediate context, but its message extends beyond the pitch. “Winning” is intended as a soundtrack for anyone pursuing a goal, overcoming adversity or refusing to settle for defeat.
With Stephen Marley and Beenie Man delivering the vocals, David Cole shaping the production and SpaceAgeRasta contributing production and A&R direction, the record brings together a powerful combination of Jamaican experience, cultural heritage and contemporary creative vision.
“Winning” by Stephen Marley & Beenie Man will be available worldwide on September 18, 2026.
