Travis Scott to lead new concert safety initiative

Whether or not you hold Travis Scott accountable for the infamous Astroworld concert, American rapper is still on the go to finding solutions and his latest, an initiative spearheaded by him to ensure the safety of concert-goers is held paramount.

Scott has reportedly joined forces with leaders in music and government to prevent identical Astroworld incidents from occurring. The group, in particular, he has partnered with is the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM).

The United States Conference of Mayors is the official non-partisan organisation of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. There are over 1,400 such cities in the country today. Each city is represented in the conference by its chief elected official, the mayor.

The group will comprise of leading experts from industries such as music, medicine, public safety, emergency response and technology.

This initiative will be headed by Reno, Nevada Mayor Hillary Schieve, who also serves as the Chair of the Conference’s Tourism, Art, Parks, Entertainment, and Sports Committee.

The mayor together with his team, will create and outline a safety report that can be utilised by concert and festival-goers. In addition, they will zoom in on new technologies and innovations that offer solutions to these challenges.
