The doors of the Trelawny court were shuttered early today, February 6, due to the presence of a live electrical wire near the court premises and heavy rainfall.

The Court Administration Division (CAD) in a statement said the combination of heavy rain and the presence of a live electrical wire posed a significant risk to persons on the premises.

It said the matter has been brought to the attention of the Jamaica Public Service, which has indicated that it will address the matter.

It said it anticipates that court will resume normal operations on the following business day, February 7, at 10 a.m.

The CAD said court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and appointments, affected by the early closure will be rescheduled promptly, adding that its staff will reach out to affected parties to provide further guidance.
