The UK Government and judicial system are relentless and set high standards when it comes to issues of accountability and misconduct of public officials.

Today, former UK Ambassador to the United States Lord Peter Mandelson was arrested after revelations came out concerning him in the Epstein files. 

His political career is now over.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that 72-year-old Mandelson, a Labour Party grandee, has been arrested.

Only last week, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s second son, was arrested after what came out in the Epstein files about sharing sensitive government information and lewd behaviour. 

These arrests have rocked the British establishment.

Both of Lord Mandelson’s homes, including his eight-million-pound mansion in Regent’s Park, were raided by the police.

It is alleged that Lord Mandelson, known as “The Prince of Darkness”, sent important Government information to the pedophile Jeffery Epstein while he was the Business Secretary in a Labour Party Government.

There are photos in the Epstein files with Mandelson wearing no trousers but in his underwear. 

His closeness to Epstein has led to greater scrutiny, and it now means questions are being asked of the current UK Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer. There are calls for him to resign as Head of the UK Government.

It is also alleged that Epstein sent money to Lord Mandelson’s husband, Reinaldo Avila da Silva, according to documents published by the US Justice Department.

Despite Lord Mandelson’s assertions that he cut off contact with Epstein after his conviction for sexually molesting young girls, emails reveal he was still in contact with the American financier in 2016.

In September 2025, Lord Mandelson was sacked as the UK’s Ambassador to the US.
