
This week saw the BRICS Summit taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa.
BRICS is the amalgamation of five emerging economies namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa coming together to boost the world’s economic growth.
Launched in 2009, six new countries will be joining BRICS in January 2024, namely: Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
BRICS is proving to be an alternative to the G7 and the voice for emerging economies.
