China, a global powerhouse in trade, technology, innovation, and logistics, is set to contribute significantly to the discussion on the world’s transition to a net zero future at the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

Gim Huay Neo, managing director of the WEF, expressed enthusiasm about the significant role China is expected to play in addressing global challenges.

Neo highlighted China’s position as one of the largest economies and a key player in global trade and believes the world stands a better chance of addressing global problems and challenges, with China’s active engagement and emphasised the scope for innovation in policy, technology, solutions, and business models that China brings to the table. The World Economic Forum believes that China’s active participation will contribute significantly to the global solution process.

Focusing on solutions and partnerships are key themes for the upcoming discussions.

Chinese businesses and government leaders are expected to play a robust role in contributing ideas and perspectives on how the global community can come together. This engagement spans various aspects, including trade relations, value chain partnerships, and engagements with suppliers.
