West Indies all-rounder, Justin Greaves has been named ICC Men’s Player of the Month for July 2026, , following his stellar contributions with the bat and ball across the month.

Commenting on the honour, Greaves remarked: “I have had a memorable month playing at home, and to have contributed with both bat and ball against Sri Lanka and Pakistan has been particularly special for me,” Greaves spoke on the performances that had won him the honour. “Having impactful performances in Test cricket is always something I will cherish, especially when they come in front of our home fans.”

He hopes to continue delivering in the same vein in the future, telling fans, “I am pleased to have played my part in some important performances for the team, and I hope I can continue to make meaningful contributions. I thank my team-mates and team staff for their support and look forward to building on this momentum in the coming months.”

Success in ICC World Test Championship

Greaves found success at ICC World Test Championship encounters for the West Indies, contributing to a draw against Sri Lanka and a famous win against Pakistan. Living up to the tag of the all-rounder, Greaves made a mark with both bat and ball during July.

His first act came up against Sri Lanka, where facing a tall first innings total of 549/9 dec, Greaves settled the hosts after they were 144/4 and scored a magnificent 180 to get closer to the Sri Lankan total while also batting out time. His performance, which included 14 fours and two sixes, eventually ensured that West Indies drew the Test and secured a 1-0 series win at home along with crucial WTC points.

Before his second Test appearance, Greaves featured in two ODIs against New Zealand and scored 32 runs at a strike-rate of 114.28 while opening the innings. His second memorable act, came with the ball, when he ran through the talented Pakistan batting lineup in Tarouba, picking up his maiden five-wicket haul. 

Greaves bowled five consecutive wicket maidens during his feat, a spell which reduced Pakistan from 244/4 to 267/9, and eventually handed West Indies a crucial first innings advantage. 

He returned in the second innings to collect back-to-back wickets of his first two overs, making it seven scalps from seven consecutive overs in the Test match. West Indies bowled out Pakistan for 120 to secure a 90-run win.

Greaves was the Player of the Match in both these Tests.
