Company will be investing US$4 million in Jamaica, providing 40 permanent jobs

The Jamaican subsidiary of Caribbean payment service provider, WiPay, was recently officially launched having been in operation for a year.
The Trinidad-formed company announced last Thursday (August 26) that Jamaica will be its headquarters, relocating from the twin-island republic. The Jamaican operations has been steadily growing, forming strategic partnerships along the way.
Industry and Commerce Minister Audley Shaw, along with his Cabinet colleague, Agriculture Minister, Floyd Green endorsed WiPay Jamaica, as they both attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony and official opening of the WiPay Building in the New Kingston financial district.
Understanding the Jamaican market
Since its entry into the Jamaican market a year ago, WiPay has taken the time to understand the Jamaican market through special projects, most notably the Cashless Farmers Market operated by the Rural Agricultural Development Authority, which is the first in the Caribbean.
WiPay is also involved in the eCommerce National Delivery Solution (ENDS) project.

WiPay Jamaica is the first to bring Pan Chicken men online and give them the ability to accept credit card payments as well as Project 1000, which is said to have smashed the Guinness World Record by hosting the largest online web development after gifting 1000 SMEs Free eCommerce Ready Websites.
WiPay Jamaica Country Manager, Kibwe McGann has disclosed that over the next 12 months, WiPay Jamaica will be investing some US$4 million in Jamaica and providing some new jobs.
The company will be investing more in Jamaica through technology and hardware as well as direct cash investments.
