World Cup striker Jody Brown is among 28 players who have been called to a second combined Women’s U17/U20 camp as the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) seeks to assess the current state of their technical, physical, mental and tactical abilities.
The camp that is being held at the Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence on the University of the West Indies’ Mona campus, will also be used as a catalyst to help develop friendship, trust and chemistry between the players.
It began on Monday (December 20) and will conclude on Thursday. The first of the camps ended last week Friday.
Brown, a student at Florida State University is perhaps the most recognizable among the players given her experience at the national level and her recent success at the NCAA level where she was a standout as FSU won the NCAA Division 1 football championships 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out against Brigham Young University.
It was FSU’s third hold on the national title.
Two other players, based overseas, are among the 28 assembled for the camp. They include Ashlee Lewis of Toronto Blizzard and Nevillegail Able of Navarro College.
The full squad comprises Dejionee Anderson, Davia Richards, Tianna Beswick, Daihla Whyte, Javanae Jones, Kaliscia Mitchell, Seanoya Taylor, Liha Williams, Nickela Thomas, Kelly Nunes, Jada Douglas, Mickela Thomas, Jody Brown, Avery Johnson, Ashlee Lewis, Nevillegail Able, Tiny Seaton, Janeil Mignott, Shaneil Buckley, Kerrisan Lawrence, Lillian Clarke, Andrene Smith, Destiny Powell, Dannique Wilson, Natoya Atkinson, Cassandra Smith, Shanae Ashley, Sajane Anderson.
