A farmer of Porters Mountain district, Westmoreland has been charged with discharging an illegal firearm following an incident on Friday, April 12.

He has been identified as 68-year-old Keith Spence otherwise called ‘Trash’.

Spence has been charged with two counts of shooting with Intent, using a prohibited weapon to commit a felony and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Reports are that at about 7:00 pm, Spence and a couple were arguing at his home when Spence told
them to leave.

The couple made their way outside and stood along the roadway when Spence brandished a handgun and opened gunfire at them.

They ran and escaped without injuries.

A report was made to the police after which Spence surrendered to the police on April 14 and was charged a day later.
