Ezra Blount is the latest victim of the November 5 Astroworld tragedy in Houston, Texas.

The nine-year-old died a little over a week after suffering injuries during a chaotic crowd surge during Travis Scott’s annual concert.

Blount who attended the concert with his father, had been mounted on his dad’s shoulders during the show.

As the concertgoers rushed to the front of the stage, Ezra’s father fell while being smothered by the crowd and subsequently experienced breathing issues which led to his unconsciousness. Ezra then fell off his father’s shoulders and into the sea of people where he was trampled.

He sustained injuries to his liver and lungs as well as swelling in his brain. He also suffered from a cardiac arrest. Upon arriving to the hospital, he was placed in a medically induced coma.

Ezra died on Sunday (November 14) at the Texas Children’s Hospital.

Blount’s family some time last week filed a lawsuit against the rapper along with Scoremore Management, Live Nation Entertainment and Cactus Jack Records.

Ben Crump, one of three attorney’s hired by the Blount family, shared in a news release on Sunday night, the family’s status on the recent death.

“The Blount family tonight is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son. This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert, what should have been a joyful celebration.”

Blount is the youngest person to die from injuries sustained at the Astroworld concert, bringing the death toll to 10.
