Jamaica’s Khadija Shaw scored a hat-trick as Manchester City trounced Tottenham Hotspur 5-2 in the English Women’s Super League (WSL) last Saturday (March 21).

Shaw netted a 13-minute treble scoring in the 8th, 18th, and 21st minutes, which was the quickest hat-trick in WSL history.

It was also Shaw’s 18th goal of the season and moved her well clear in the Golden Boot race as she is nine clear of her nearest challenger, Kristy Hanson of Aston Villa, sitting on nine goals.

Shaw is hunting her third Golden Boot award, having won it in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons. She is City’s record goalscorer, surpassing 100 goals for the club and Jamaica’s record scorer with 62 goals from 46 games. 

Shaw’s exploits have led Manchester City to the top of the WSL with 46 points from 18 games and well on their way to the title. Manchester United are second on 38 points with champions Chelsea in third spot on 37 points.
