On August 23, 2026, a team of Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Jamaica participated in Jamaica’s inaugural Urban Forest Run. Chargé d’affaires and Minister-Counselor Ms. Yang Xiaorong attended and interacted with  Matthew Samuda, Minister of Water, Environment and Climate Change.

Yang said that the voluntary participation of the Embassy demonstrated its strong support for Jamaica’s rebuilding and reforestation efforts, and reflected the friendship between the peoples of China and Jamaica. The Jamaican side expressed sincere appreciation for China’s long-standing and strong support for Jamaica’s post-disaster reconstruction.
