The American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ) will be hosting the 2026 Hummingbird Gala at the New York Plaza on October 16, 2026. 

It will honour Adam Stewart, CD, Hon. LLD, with the International Achievement Award and Sheryl Lee Ralph, OJ, Hon., with the International Humanitarian Award – two distinguished Jamaican leaders: one a visionary in global tourism and hospitality, and the other an acclaimed artist and passionate humanitarian whose decades of advocacy have transformed lives and communities.

The Hummingbird Gala is a prestigious celebration honouring the achievements of leaders dedicated to nation-building. Through the Gala, the AFJ aims to shine a spotlight on the critical need for access to equitable healthcare, education and economic development. The Gala promises to be an unforgettable evening celebrating AFJ’s impact since its inception over 44 years ago.
