Minister of Water, Environment and Climate Change Matthew Samuda made a very good presentation at the United Nations’ “ Solutions Dialogue on Ocean Action and Leadership meeting in New York yesterday. 

It was part of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Minister Samuda called for the reduction of the administrative burden on SIDS  and to harmonise the process of reporting. He also made a call for greater coherence in finance.

“The ocean is one connected system. Our governance should reflect that reality,” he said 

At the UN meeting, Samuda demonstrated that he is a government minister who has taken the time to study his portfolio and offer realistic recommendations. He is proving to be a results-oriented minister.
