Set to play in CONCACAF U-20 Championship

Alexis Wright, freshman at the University of California, Berkeley, has been named to the Jamaica U-20 national team for the upcoming 2022 CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship.
The 2022 CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship will run from February 25 to March 12 in the Dominican Republic. Wright will join fellow California freshman, Ayo Oke, who will be playing in the tournament, representing the United States.
California senior, Sydney Collins was recently called up to the US U23 National Team for their upcoming games at the Thorns Preseason Tournament. Jamaica will open play on February 26, as they take on Guatemala.

That will be followed with a February 28 match against Cuba and a March 2 contest vs Haiti. The top three teams from the four-team group will advance to the next round.

Wright completed her freshman season with the Bears in the fall, as she played in 12 games and made three starts. She ranked third on the team with two assists, as she set up goals in Cal’s wins over Oregon State and Arizona.
Commenting on Wright’s national call up, California head coach Neil McGuire remarked: “It’s exciting to see Alexis being given this opportunity at the international level.
