The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) says its team has located the 15-year-old girl who was seen recently in a viral video being stomped by her mother.
The CPFSA, in a statement on Thursday, January 18, said the child is now in the care of her father and is now receiving medical attention at the hospital.
“Our investigation team was able to quickly locate the child. We can confirm that the woman seen assaulting her in the video was her mother.
“We will continue to follow up with the child to offer psychological, psychosocial and any other forms of necessary intervention,” said Laurette Adams-Thomas, chief executive officer of the CPFSA.

A viral video surfaced on social media showing an adult female standing on the neck of a child who was lying on the floor weeping. The female could be heard saying repeatedly, “Weh yuh want turn, weh yuh want turn” while stomping on the child.
Reports are that the mother of the child found lewd text messages between the 15-year-old and another schoolgirl.
The Center for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) also confirmed on Thursday that the child’s mother is now in custody. It further noted that the mother will be interviewed and the next steps will be taken.
The CPFSA is urging individuals to report all forms of child abuse by calling the agency at 211, or via email at [email protected] or WhatsApp at 8768782882.
The agency received some 14,130 reports of child abuse last year.
