COVID-19 Update | Five cases recorded over holidays

The Ministry of Health and Wellness has revealed that Jamaica recorded five new COVID-19 cases during the holiday season.

According to the latest report, the cases were recorded between December 26, 2023 and January 1, 2024.

St Catherine recorded three cases, while St Thomas recorded two. The remaining parishes had no report of new cases during the period.

There are now 11 active cases of the virus on the island.

The positivity rate stands at 2.7 per cent.

Last month, Jamaica received 45,000 doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines from the United States government. The doses are available at health centres listed on the Ministry of Health’s website.
