Strategic review of its majority equity in subsidiaries now being done

Derrimon Trading has relocated its Marnock LLC and Marnock Retail LLC subsidiaries from New York to New Jersey.

As such, Marnock LLC and Marnock Retail, operators of Food Saver New York and Sampars New York, have ceased all operations from 402 East 83rd Street, Canarsie, Brooklyn, New York.

As such, the subsidiaries expect to restart wholesale operations from New Jersey in November 2026, whilst retail operations for the tri-state area are being restructured towards e-commerce via upgrades to the www.shopsampars.com platform.

Derrimon is currently carrying out a strategic review on its 80% shareholding in Marnock LLC and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Marnock Retail LLC, including evaluating the financial, legal and accounting implications of various decisions for those entities, and will provide further updates.

Update on litigation matters

In addition, Derrimon, which is listed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, will provide an update on litigation matters involving Marnock LLC and Marnock Retail LLC in its September 2026 third quarter financial statements.

The decision to relocate was driven largely by the high cost of operating in New York, where expenses including rent, insurance, municipal charges and even waste disposal have weighed heavily on the business. The move to New Jersey is expected to reduce Derrimon’s US operation’s costs by more than 60 per cent, with the company targeting a return to profitability within two to three months of the relocation.

The relocation follows significant disruption caused by flooding at the Brooklyn property, which forced a prolonged period of closure of the supermarkets, resulting in substantial revenue losses for Derrimon.

The US stores serve as both an overseas revenue stream and an export channel for Derrimon’s Jamaican brands, including Spicy Hill Farms products.

The stores, which operated under Food Savers NY and Good Food for Less through Derrimon’s Marnock LLC subsidiary, reopened in August 2025 under the Sampars New York banner after a nine-month closure caused by severe roof and water damage.
