
Canadian rap star Drake this week became the first artiste to simultaneously debut three songs in the top three spots on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, thanks to his Scary Hours 2 EP, a teaser for his hotly anticipated Certified Lover Boy album expected to be finally be released next month.
Scary Hours 2, consisting of What’s Next, Wants and Needs and Lemon Pepper Freestyle, was released on March 5 to mixed reviews.
What’s Next, landing at No. 1 on the chart, represents Drake’s eighth single on the Hot 100 chart, and his fourth to debut at its summit.
According to Billboard Magazine, the EP is expected to sell a combined one million equivalent units or more in its first week, thanks largely to the estimated 140 to 170 million streams.
The sales include physical and digital alongside streaming data which determines the performance of the album.
Scary Hours 2 addresses the endless demands on Drake’s life as an influential artiste and features a Lil Baby collaboration on Wants and Needs.
Wants and Needs includes Drake declaring: “Leave me out the comments, leave me out the nonsense.”

Lemon Pepper Freestyle features Rick Ross and discusses continuous speculation about Drake’s time away from the limelight with the lyrics: “Summer, all I did was rest, okay? And New Year’s, all I did was stretch, okay? And Valentine’s Day, I had sex, okay? We’ll see what’s about to happen next, okay?”
Scary Hours 2 was released on OVO Sound/Republic Records.
