Elderly siblings charged for fisherman’s murder in Trelawny

A woman and her brother have been arrested and charged after they reportedly conspired to murder 59-year-old David Brown, a fisherman of Moorefield district in Wakefield, Trelawny.

The individuals charged with murder and conspiracy to murder are: 56-year-old Sylvia Montaque, a babysitter of Moorefield, Wakefield in Trelawny; and her brother, 60-year-old Lester Montaque, a gardener of Tilston Housing Scheme, Bounty Hall, in the parish.

Their court date is being finalised.

The police report that on December 30, the siblings went to Brown’s house and forced their way inside. A fight developed among the three during which Brown was hit on the head with concrete blocks by the siblings.

Residents who heard the altercation alerted the police. The area was searched and Brown was found lying in a pool of blood.

The siblings were subsequently arrested and charged.
