Ghana national football team have dismissed head coach Otto Addo just 72 days before the start of this summer’s World Cup.

The decision follows a difficult run of results, including a 2–1 loss to Germany and a heavy 5–1 defeat to Austria. Ghana have now lost their last four matches and also missed out on qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite having attacking talent like Antoine Semenyo and Mohammed Kudus, the team struggled to find form under Addo, who began his second stint in charge in March 2024.

The Ghana Football Association confirmed the split takes effect immediately and says plans for the team’s next direction will be announced soon.

Ghana are set to open their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 18th , before facing England on June 23rd  and Croatia on June 27th.
