Issa Trust Foundation distributes 191 custom-made eyeglasses in Westmoreland

The Issa Trust Foundation, in collaboration with the Michigan Lions, provided free eye examinations and distributed 191 custom-made eyeglasses in Westmoreland.

Initially, the mission intended to provide free eye examinations to students in Westmoreland and the dedicated staff of Couples Resorts in Negril. However, after it became apparent that a significant number of individuals required corrective eyewear, the Issa Trust Foundation and the Michigan Lions took proactive measures to ensure that no one was left behind due to a lack of resources.

These bespoke eyewear solutions address a spectrum of refractive errors, including myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia, thereby empowering individuals with clear and focused vision essential for daily activities and learning.

The initiative was spearheaded by Diane Pollard, president of the Issa Trust Foundation, in collaboration with the Michigan Lions and Alexandra Ghisays of Couples Resorts. Participating schools included the Rockhouse School, Unity Primary School, Little London Primary School, and the Savanna-la-Mar Primary School,
