Jamaica has deepened its strategic collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) following high-level meetings at its Washington, D.C. headquarters with Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett.

Minister Bartlett is in the American capital for talks with the IDB, which was followed by a luncheon with the Board of Directors.

Discussions focused on advancing investment, innovation and capacity building within Jamaica’s tourism sector, with particular emphasis on sustaining growth, enhancing resilience and expanding the industry’s contribution to national development.

During the talks Minister Bartlett underscored the importance of strong multilateral partnerships in driving tourism transformation, noting that collaboration with institutions like the IDB remains critical.

This is particularly important, as Jamaica continues to strengthen its global competitiveness and long-term sustainability.
